Mega adds data governance to its enterprise architecture tools

A specialist in enterprise architecture tools for transforming and developing information systems, Mega International has launched version 5 of its platform. This integrates a data governance solution.
With its Hopex platform which centralizes in a common repository information related to business lines, the information system, data and risks, the French publisher Mega International provides enterprise architecture tools to support the transformation of the IS. Within the offer, organizations rely on Hopex IT Business Management to align the IT roadmap with business objectives, by modeling value flows and mapping business capabilities. While Hopex IT Architecture is used to map applications and technologies and IT Portfolio Management provides visibility into IT resources. In France, this latter software is, for example, used by Bordeaux Métropole to understand, maintain and develop its IS after the pooling of CIOs from different municipalities within the regional metropolis.
Mega International has now completed its platform with a data governance solution, Hopex Data Governance. Through the creation of data catalogs and business glossaries, this will provide the same level of information to the different user profiles (chief data officer, data steward, data scientist…) working on this data. In the area of enterprise architecture, risk management and compliance solutions, Mega International is identified by various research firms, including Gartner, Forrester and Spark Matrix, among the leading publishers in the market (alongside , in particular, products of Software AG, Avolution and Bizzdesign). Its on-premise platform is also deployed in the cloud, public or private. On the publisher’s roadmap, Gartner highlights, among other things, the continued focus on user experience and scalability. One of Mega’s clients, the European Investment Bank uses its solution to manage its internal processes and ensure regulatory compliance.
Lineage and flow modeling capabilities
This fall, the French publisher is delivering version 5 of its platform, which provides a more connected repository by bringing together the sharing of enterprise architecture, business process management, data governance and risk planning. The platform has been enhanced with automation functions for the discovery and inventory of applications, processes and data. It also benefits from a new generator of personalized dashboards and a recommendation module to improve the rationalization of applications and migration to the cloud, summarizes Mega on its site.
Integrated in this version 5, Hopex Data Governance is presented as a collaborative solution based on a common data repository. To create the latter, the solution connects to multiple sources, as well as to external software. On data quality aspects, it provides data lineage capabilities to find out how they were collected, how they are used and transformed. Modeling capabilities help visualize flows in graphical form. The solution also makes it possible to manage regulatory compliance on data.
